Dr. Ferraro is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Neurology, IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino and the Department of Neuroscience, Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, Genetics, Maternal and Child Health (DINOGMI), University of Genoa.
After completing her PhD in Experimental Neurology, she has worked at the Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration Center of the University of Pennsylvania to develop novel Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) research lines in the field of motor neuron diseases-frontotemporal lobar degeneration (MND-FTLD) spectrum disorders.
Currently, Dr. Ferraro is the Team Leader of the motor neuron diseases and other neurodegenerative disorders Labat IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino in Genoa, where she conducts clinical and neuroimaging studies in cognitive and motor neurodegenerative syndromes.
Her research is specifically focused on mapping progressive neurodegeneration in MND-FTLD spectrum disorders using a multimodal MRI approach. In particular, her work involves the application of advanced MRI techniques to identify structural and functional brain changes associated with disease heterogeneity and progression.
