<strong>Biography:</strong></p>

Cristian Vergallo achieved the degree in Biology and the Ph.D. in Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Salento, Lecce (Italy). From 2011 until now he has held several academic appointments both as Research Assistant at University of Salento, Department of Biological and Environmental Science and Technology (Di.S.Te.B.A.) and as Postdoctoral Fellow (Research Associate) at University of Chieti-Pescara “G. d’Annunzio”, Department of Pharmacy (Chieti, Italy), with responsibilities on research projects, teaching and degree thesis co-supervision.</p>

<strong>Research Interest(s):</strong>His research concerns the study of the underlying mechanisms involved in the interaction between biological systems and i) static/pulsed magnetic fields, ii) nanomaterials or iii) plant-based natural compounds, as well as the molecules expressed by phagocytes and dying cells under different external stimuli. Main investigating methods include optical/electron microscopy (LM, CLSM, TEM and SEM) and proteomics. He has got collaborations with other foreign research groups working in the same fields of application (Hungary, Iran).</p>
