Rami Al-Dirini is a researcher in the field of biomedical engineering and biomechanics. He holds a PhD in Biomechanics, a Becholor degree (with Honours) in Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in research commercialisation. He is an AutoCRC and a Maurice de Rohan scholar. His PhD (UniSA, 2015) studied the human-seat interaction for improved seat and wheelchair design applications. His post-doctoral research focuses on developing methods for evaluating novel othopaedic implant designs that account for patient- and surgical-related variations. Dr Al-Dirini's reasearch has involved interaction with national and international industry partners including DePuy Synthes (International Othopedic implant company of Johnsons & Johnsons), Futuris (Automotive parts producer-Australia) and Texisense (Medical equipment producer- France). Recently, Dr Al-Dirini was awarded the David Findlay early career award in recognition of the research presented at the Australia and New Zealand Orthopaedic Research Society meeting (ANZORS 2016), which is the focal meeting for researchers in Orthopaedic Research in Australia and New Zealand. Dr Al-Dirini was also selected to represent Australia and New Zealand Orthopedic Researchers at the Orthopedic Research Society meeting this year in San Diego, USA, which is the peak meeting for Orthopedic Research in the world</p>
