BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Lei has a bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has a master’s degree in Medicine from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She completed her doctoral studies in Medicine from a joint program of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science & Technology and Netherlands Institute for Brain Research. In addition, she pursued postdoctoral neuroscience, development and cancer work at University of Toledo. She comes to Johns Hopkins University as a research associate at Integrated Research Center for Fetal Medicine& Department of OB/GYN.

 

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Lei is interested in studying the pathogenesis, especially immunology of fetal brain injury with exposure to intrauterine infection and inflammation from virus and bacteria. Dr. Lei studies prenatally used neuroprotective agents that could be used in utero to prevent cerebral palsy and a spectrum of neurobehavioral outcomes.
